New Student Info

I’m so glad that you are interested in working with me!  Here is some helpful information to give you an idea of what is needed to get started!  

Schedule & Tuition

I primarily teach on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  Lessons are 30 minutes, once a week and cost $28 for each lesson.   The time slots are typically in the afternoon between 3:00 – 6:30 p.m.

What You’ll Need

I will provide everything you will need for the drum lesson.  Students are encouraged to bring a folder to keep exercises and handouts organized.  Students are welcomed to bring their own sticks if they’d like. 

Student Lesson Book – $30

I require that all new students purchase “Book One” of my guided curriculum.  This is a spiral-bound hard copy with a one-time cost of $30.  This will be our guide, providing tons of information and serve as a workbook at home with exercises for most lessons.

List of Favorite Songs

One of our early goals will be to have the student playing along with real music.  I like to identify a couple of his/her favorite songs as a goal to work towards.  Please bring a list of favorite bands and songs.  No list is too long – the longer, the better!

Lesson Payment

Lesson tuition can be paid at time of lessons, but at the first of month is preferred.  Any missed lessons that have sufficient notice will be credited forward.  Payments for lessons can be paid using cash, check or Venmo (@Dondi-Frenkel).

Cancellation Policy

I’m happy to credit any missed lessons forward as long as I have 24-hour notice.  I understand that life happens.  If needed, we can try to re-schedule in the same week if the schedule permits.

Location / Arrival Instructions

  • I teach out of a room in St. Mark United Methodist Church, located in East Hill at the corner of 12th Avenue and Maxwell Street (see map below).  

 

  • The drum room is on the second floor of the educational bldg (far right bldg if you are facing the church.) The room is outside, at the top of the stairs, the first of five classrooms.  Look for the big church logo on the brick facing the street.
  • I’ll be out on the balcony looking for you prior to our lesson time.  If I am finishing another lesson then I will come out and find you at our scheduled lesson time.
